What to Expect
-
Origin Point is located inside Pinnacle Chiropractic and Wellness in Rogers, AR. When you arrive, simply let the front desk know you’re here for an acupuncture appointment, and they’ll direct you to the designated waiting area.
-
Acupuncture needles are extremely thin—much finer than the needles used for injections or blood draws. Most people feel little to no discomfort with insertion. You may notice sensations such as heaviness, warmth, tingling, pressure, or a dull ache around certain points, all of which can be normal during treatment. Many patients find acupuncture deeply relaxing and even fall asleep during their session.
-
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing whenever possible. Many acupuncture points can be accessed by rolling clothing above the elbows or knees, although some treatments may require access to other areas of the body. Appropriate draping will always be provided when needed so that you remain comfortable and covered throughout your treatment.
-
Treatment frequency depends on what you’re coming in for, how long the concern has been present, and how your body responds to care, all of which we will figure out in the first consultation. For many conditions, treatment may begin at once or twice per week before gradually spacing visits out as symptoms improve and progress becomes more stable. Your recommended treatment frequency will be discussed with you and adjusted throughout your course of care.
-
We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice. Appointments canceled or rescheduled within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment time will be charged 50% of the appointment fee. No-shows will be charged the full appointment fee.
-
Yes. It’s best to have a meal or light snack within a few hours before your appointment rather than arriving on an empty stomach. You don’t need to eat immediately beforehand, but being adequately nourished and hydrated can help you feel comfortable during and after treatment. Avoid arriving overly full or after consuming excessive alcohol.
-
Absolutely! Acupuncture can be used throughout pregnancy when provided by a properly trained and licensed acupuncturist. It can be a supportive therapy throughout the different stages of pregnancy, helping address many of the physical and emotional changes that can arise along the way and supporting overall well-being. Treatment is modified appropriately for each stage of pregnancy, and certain acupuncture points and techniques may be avoided or used differently. Please let your practitioner know if you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant before treatment.

Chinese herbal medicine is safe when appropriately prescribed by a qualified practitioner, but herbs are biologically active substances and should be treated accordingly. Some herbs can interact with prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, supplements, or certain health conditions.
Before prescribing an herbal formula, we’ll review your current medications, supplements, health history, and relevant medical conditions to identify potential contraindications or interactions. Always let your practitioner know about any medications or supplements you are taking and notify us of any changes while using herbal medicine.

Origin Point is currently a self-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly. Acupuncture services may be eligible for payment through your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA), depending on your individual plan. We recommend checking with your HSA/FSA provider to confirm coverage and eligibility before your appointment.

No. Chinese herbal medicine may be incorporated into your acupuncture treatment plan when appropriate, and herbal recommendations can be made during your acupuncture visits. A separate Herbal Medicine Consultation is designed for those seeking Chinese herbal medicine as a standalone treatment without acupuncture.
