The Meaning Behind Origin Point

The name Origin Point reflects the philosophy at the heart of Chloe’s practice: that meaningful healing involves both understanding where dysfunction originates and helping the body return toward its own natural state of balance and health.

When symptoms arise, they are often the outward expression of something occurring beneath the surface. Rather than focusing solely on the symptom itself, Chinese medicine looks deeper to understand why it is happening—where healthy function may have been disrupted, what contributed to that disruption, and what may be continuing to drive it. This is the first origin point: the source from which symptoms and dysfunction may develop.

The second is the origin point within the body itself—its natural state of health, balance, and resilience. At its healthiest, the body is strong, adaptable, and constantly working to regulate, recover, and respond to the demands placed on it. Illness, injury, chronic stress, lifestyle, environment, and other influences can disrupt that process and move the body away from this state. But that capacity for health is still within us—a state where we feel well and where the body functions with strength, stability, and ease.

Origin Point brings these two ideas together: tracing a health concern back to its source while helping guide the body toward its natural state of health—where it can regulate, adapt, and function as it was designed to.

The Origin Point logo was designed to reflect this philosophy:

  • The bamboo leaves represent resilience, strength, flexibility, and longevity. In Chinese culture, bamboo is valued not because it resists every force, but because it has the strength to bend, adapt, and remain rooted without breaking. It continues to grow through changing conditions, making it a powerful symbol of endurance, renewal, and steady transformation. In the logo, bamboo reflects the body’s own ability to respond, recalibrate, and return toward balance when given the right support.

  • The acupuncture needle represents the medicine itself—precise, intentional, and directed toward restoring balance.

  • At the base of the needle is the point of origin, where the needle meets the center and creates outward ripples. This represents the idea that meaningful change begins by addressing where imbalance originates. From that point, change can influence the body as a whole.

  • The circle surrounding the logo is an Ensō, a traditional Japanese symbol often associated with wholeness, balance, presence, and the beauty of an imperfect but complete form. For Origin Point, it represents the body as an interconnected whole and the continual process of returning toward balance.
